An Authentic, Fun-Filled Afternoon with Paola in Bologna!
Our private market tour and cooking class with Paola was one of the highlights of our Italian adventure!
We began by exploring Bologna's historic markets, discovering seasonal ingredients and local specialties. Paola even introduced us to delicious caper flowers, something we'd never tried before!
Paola also shared wonderful shopping recommendations, including a historic balsamic vinegar shop where we enjoyed tastings and purchased several special gifts to bring home.
From there, we took the bus to her charming home, decorated with cheerful suns, where we learned to roll fresh tagliatelle and make homemade tiramisu. Paola's lively personality and wonderfully spirited instructions had us laughing throughout the afternoon. Watching my husband learn to roll pasta under the watchful eye of this petite Italian woman was especially entertaining!
We finished by enjoying our freshly made tagliatelle with Paola's delicious homemade ragù in her beautiful garden, surrounded by blooming hydrangeas.
What made this experience truly special was having Paola all to ourselves. It felt less like a formal cooking class and more like spending an afternoon with a local friend who genuinely enjoys sharing her culinary traditions.
